He could not believe it had taken him this long to do this. He was, after all a time lord. A time lord who had saved the universe many, many times nonetheless. Why shouldn't he be allowed some happiness in his life?
As Rose's lips moved beneath his own, all thoughts were wiped from his head. All that existed were him and Rose, caught up in their blissful haze of what could only be described as love.
Oh, he loved her so much. Much, much more than he had ever loved anything in the Universe. In all of his more than 900 years of existence she was the only one who had made his hearts flutter like that.
He was absolutely, unashamedly, unreservedly in love with Rose Tyler
Suddenly she pulled away, gasping for breath. He smiled at the expression on her face and a feeling of well-being and peace spread through him. She smiled too, leaned forward and whispered in his ear, "I love you."
He gently stroked her cheek and lost himself in her hazel eyes, the words he had sworn never to say stumbling over his lips.
"I love you too."
