Life in a different universe was… different. There was no travelling in the TARDIS, no exciting adventures on strange planets and no going to the past or future. All in all it was a boring life for a man who had spent the last 900 years travelling through time and space.

But the most boring part was the fancy dinners. He should have known that since Pete Tyler was a rich and oh so very important person here, there would be certain responsibilities when dating his daughter, but if he had known it wold involve this he would have run away with Rose, screaming loudly.

But even though these things had bored him 15 minutes before the first one began, he did it for Rose's sake. Not that he enjoyed it more because of that. Most times he ended up talking to a guy who was so boring he wanted to fall asleep right there and the rest of the times some old lady usually pinched him in his… behind.

It was a cloudless night and as he looked at the stars, he felt the familiar longing. He loved being with Rose, he loved being in this world with her, but there was just so much up there. Things he had seen, things he had yet to see. He had seen more than any other… human, but sometimes he felt so trapped. He just missed the adventure and the travelling in space and time. Sure, he was working for Torchwood and helped them with their daily alien threats, but it wasn't the same.

Nothing could compare with being up there, surrounded by stars. Seeing the past, the future and the present here, there, everywhere he wanted to go. Nothing, except maybe her.

"Hi," a voice suddenly said. He jumped and spun around, only to find Rose there, standing behind him, smiling broadly. "So you got bored too, eh?"

"Yep. I don't mind people talking about booms and recession and stocks, as long as I'm not in the room."

Rose laughed and for a second he was struck by her beauty. Her hair was up and she was wearing a short black dress. She was the most beautiful person in the entire universe.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked, startling him out of his thoughts of her and her beauty. He smiled and said, "Oh, just you and me and ye olde universe." She took a step closer and stood right next to him and looked at the stars. He was reminded by a different life. "There is a storm coming." The storm had passed and left his broken hearts in its wake. Now his single heart was filled with happiness and love.

"You miss it, don't you?" she asked.

"900 years of time and space… it's not something you easily forget," he answered.  They were both silent for a moment, lost in memories of their travels up there.

"Oh, I just remembered something!" she said and reached into her purse. He missed the contact between their hands, but when he saw what she had kept in her purse he burst out laughing.

"A banana!" he managed to say. "You brought a banana to your dad's party."

"Always bring a banana to a party. Bananas are good!" she said. "I learned it from the best."

"Oh, Rose, I knew there was a reason I loved you."

"I love you too," she said and kissed him. "We should probably go back inside before mum drives Sir Matthew insane." She held out her hand and he took, their fingers intertwined. They walked back inside, but he took a last look at the stars. True, he did not have the TARDIS, but he had Rose and her family, and every once in a while, people still needed saving.

But what mattered was that he was happy.

That's great. That's so touching...
I love Rose and 10th. Hope Rose was really happy. Even if it was not really Doctor...
