Literature Text

I remember the words, read time after time
Each of them a reminder of just how sublime
These books are and how much I miss
The thrill of a new one, the consuming bliss
Of another adventure with Harry, Hermione and Ron
And how, in the end, the good guys won

Although some people may call me silly
I am still saddened by the deaths of James and Lily
I miss Sirius, Tonks, Remus and Fred
But I still remember what Albus Dumbledore said:
"Do not pity the dead, pity those alive
And most of all those, without their loved ones by their side"

In the very end, love was victorious
Voldemort lost, but the battle was not glorious
Foe, friends and family were killed, a fate unearned
Tears were shed as pages were turned
The last page was reached, the final farewell
The story ended and all was well

Although the final chapter is now done
In our soul and hearts, it still lives on
It shaped my life, I am forever in its debt
And I'm not quite ready to let go of it yet
This is exactly what it says in the title: A poem about the wonderful Harry Potter series. Oh, how I miss it...

Your poem made me sniff and cry
We fans won't let the magic die
The bindings on our books may be worn and bent
But it shows our love like a phoenix's lament

At least we have things like Pottermore,
Fanfiction, fanart, memorabilia galore
Reminding us that wherever we roam
Hogwarts will be there to welcome us home.

Not sure why I felt I had to respond in rhyme, but...it is what it is :-) Obviously inspiring. Thank you for your words, it was a gorgeous tribute.
